When creating a paper it is important to incorporate evidence from the text you are working from. When I was writing about The Importance of Arts in Sciences I incorporated specific quotes and referenced ideas from YoYo Ma’s article “Necessary Edges”, Jonah Lehrer’s “The Future of Science…Is Art?”, and lastly, Steven Pinker’s “Science is Not your Enemy”. When using these articles I pulled ideas and quotes from each writer to incorporate into my writing and strengthen my argument. As Ma and Lehrer both advocated for the sciences I decided to incorporate strong quotes which emphasized the ideas that science is changing and in order for us to unleash our new ideas and grow as a whole we need different ways of thinking. In my essay, my thesis argued that the arts should be integrated into sciences, so I utilized Ma’s article as well as Lehrer’s to help advocate for my point with examples and other’s ideas. I then used Pinker’s article as a naysayer to counteract my ideas. But when incorporating my naysayer I then used Ma and Lehrer again to reiterate the importance of arts in science.
