Learning Outcome 1

Global and local edits can seem intimidating when revising an essay. But by taking time to go through an essay and first make correct visible errors it will create a good starting point to then go deeper into the paper and make local edits. When I was revising my paper I began by taking care of any grammatical errors. After I finished with that I reread my paper to look for any errors I may have missed. For example, in my first draft, I misspelled storytelling, as I was typing quick and jotting down all of my ideas. When I went back some global edits I found myself taking care of was making sure storytelling was one word rather than two. But when going back through my paper I began to look at more local edits. I found myself adding a claim sentence to my second paragraph as well as going deeper into my paper and cutting down on my paragraphs taking out any information I may have been repeating over and over again. This was very beneficial for me as I was writing circles around my thesis rather than just getting to the point. In the end, I was much happier with my final draft, because I feel as though I stayed true to my thesis and really answered the prompt.
